Rizieri

Via San Calocero, 7 | Diano d’Alba CN

History

Rizieri is a family business born out of a deep passion for wine and a shared life project of Arturo Verrotti di Pianella. The winery is located in Diano d'Alba, Sorì del Ricchino, with its 19th-century farmhouse, featuring the characteristic L-shape which is so typical of the historical buildings of the Langa, and its modern and partly underground winery, designed to blend in with the surrounding area.
The farm covers an area of 14 hectares, 7.5 of which are vineyards and the rest mixed and deciduous forest.
The logo of the Rizieri farm features oak trees. A row of majestic, magnificent century-old oak trees will welcome you, introducing you to the main entrance driveway upon arrival at the estate.

People

For Arturo Verrotti di Pianella, wine is not a family tradition, but rather a great passion, nurtured for many years before turning it into a full-time job in 2009.

Vineyards

The estate comprises a total of 7.5 hectares under vine divided between the Municipalities of Diano d'Alba and La Morra. They were planted between 1966 and 2006 and include the most prized native varieties: Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera and Arneis. A small area cultivated with Merlot is the exception to the rule.

Wines

The wines produced by the winery are Langhe Arneis, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Langhe Merlot and Barolo and Barolo Silio which is produced in an MGA in La Morra. Both in the winery and in the vineyard, human intervention is reduced to a minimum, so that each wine can freely express its character and personality, thus becoming a faithful mirror of the grapes from which it originates and of its terroir.
