Oberto Egidio

Borgata Croera, 34 | La Morra CN

History

This is an old wine cellar dating back to the end of the 19th century, producing wines typical of the Langhe area. The ancestors of the current owners, in the same cellar as today, produced wine which was then sold in barrels. Thanks to their experience and their son Pier Franco Oberto's studies at the oenological school, today the wine tradition is combined with the most recent developments in the sector.

People

Winemakers for three generations, the brothers Remigio and Francesco Oberto left the running of the winery to Pier Franco, a wine technician who graduated from the Alba School of Enology and Remigio's son. For years Pier Franco and his wife Marisa have been running the winery and the agriturismo. Today, their young daughter Martina has also joined the family business.

Vineyards

The Nebbiolo grapes come from three prestigious sub-zones: Fossati, Case Nere and La Serra, a triad of neighbouring vineyards in an enviable position to the south.

Wines

The wines produced by the company reflect the territory: Barolo Fossati, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba and the white wine "I Sassi" made from Arneis grapes.
