Monchiero Vini

Via Alba-Monforte 49 | Castiglione Falletto CN

History

It was in the 1950s when the brothers Remo and Maggiorino Monchiero, originally from La Morra, moved to Castiglione Falletto and became wine growers. In the 1980s Vittorio Monchiero, Maggiorino's son, specialised at the Alba School of Enology and grew up with the company and the new land purchased from his father and uncle. In the 1990s Vittorio and his wife Daniela began to take care of the sales aspects and made the name of the company known around the world.

People

Today Vittorio and Daniela work together with their son Luca, who joined the company in 2017, while Stefano, the second son, is finishing his agricultural studies and will then also continue the family tradition.

Vineyards

The M.G.A. of Nebbiolo da Barolo are present on the best slopes of the hills in the communes of Castiglione Falletto and La Morra. Other estate vineyards are located in the communes of Alba, Roddi, Verduno and Treiso.

Wines

The family's wines reflect 100% of the typical Langhe grape varieties, producing several types of Barolo including Barolo Rocche di Castiglione, Barolo Montanello and Barolo Roere di Santa Maria a La Morra. Nebbiolo, Barbera, Arneis, classic method, rosé and a Moscato are also added to the range.
