Ferrero F.lli

Frazione Annunziata, 12 | La Morra CN

History

The history of the Ferrero winery began in the early 20th century at Annunziata when Settimo Giuseppe, the current owner Renato’s maternal grandfather, started the business. In the 1950s, Lorenzo Ferrero, Renato's father, restored the family vineyards, grafting native cuttings onto American vine rootstocks. At that time, the grapes produced were partly vinified and partly sold, so Lorenzo started to create his own small market. Barolo and Nebbiolo were already bottled then, while the other wines were mostly sold loose. The premature death of his father in 1966, however, led to a slowdown in the business, but not long afterwards Renato and his older brother resumed winemaking.
