Boglietti Enzo

Via Fontane,18/A | La Morra CN

History

In 1991, for the first time, the Boglietti family vinified grapes from less than 3 hectares of their own vineyards, which were the legacy of their grandfather Matteo, born in 1899, who owned portions of the Brunate, Roscaleto, Boiolo and Bricco del Dente vineyards, all located in La Morra. The other portion of the vineyards comes from the family of his grandfather Giovanni Montanaro, born in 1900, who owned the Fossati farmstead. Enzo, the current owner, borrowed a pump and a crusher, bought 5 steel tanks and restored his grandfather Matteo's old wine press. This is how Enzo began his adventure in the world of wine and a short time later Gianni, his brother, began to collaborate in the management of the company. For 25 years his father Renato was their best collaborator, very skilled and tireless in all the work in the vineyard. In the years that followed, the company expanded and the wines received many important awards around the world, establishing themselves as one of the symbolic realities of the Langhe.

People

Enzo Boglietti has always remained a family business, today with Enzo there are his two young children Linda and Matteo, who work hard to produce high quality wines. Enzo has been joined by his brother Gianni until 2019.

Vineyards

They own about 22 hectares of vineyards, located mainly in the commune of La Morra, but also in Barolo, Monforte d'Alba, Roddino, Serralunga d'Alba and Sinio. The Boglietti family uses the best principles of integrated pest management in the vineyard, combining careful agronomic management with the sole use of organic products for plant protection. The vineyards are grassed over, organically fertilised and not chemically weeded.

Wines

The wines produced reflect the beautiful territory of the Langhe, among the Baroli the Brunate, Case Nere, Fossati and Arione stand out, while the Langhe Buio, a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo, the Tigli Neri, a Dolcetto aged in barriques, and the Langhe Merlot in purity are also very interesting.
